W.J. Tonkinson

W.J. Tonkinson, 69, died early Tuesday, April 14 at Ottumwa Hospital where he had been a patient for one day.

He was born March 26, 1901 at Mount Vernon, the son of James and Carry Gillespie Tonkinson. He was married to Beulah Burey who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert of Des Moines; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Countryman and Mrs. Lola Brown, both of Birmingham, Mrs. Wilma Hootman of Fairfield, Mrs. Vivian Ward of Wilton Junction, Mrs. Melva Lea Tech; 22 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Laughlin of Sperry and Mrs. Lydia Hark of Sacramento, Calif.

Burch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
