Miss Dora Loges

Miss Dora Loges, 100, of Donnellson rural route, died Friday, April 3, at 10:10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Hospital, Fort Madison where she had been a patient since March 22.

Before entering the hospital, she made her home for six years with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sharp in the Embury community.

Born Feb. 25, 1870 at Etna, Mo., she was the daughter of Christian and Dorothea Remling Loges and moved to Iowa when she was 4 years old. She moved to Donnellson 67 years ago from the Embury community. Miss Loges was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson.

Surviving are 6 nieces, Ethel Cook, Alta Shinn, both of Springfield, Colo., Bessie Springer of Aguilar, Colo., Lottie McCoy of Hugoton, Kans., Miss Nina Loges of the Embury community, and Mrs. Harold Slaughter of Farmington RFD 1; and 9 nephews, Lester Loges of Grapevine, Tex., Clarence Loges of Springfield, Colo., Albert Loges of Argyle RFD, Leonard, Herbert and John Loges and Ed and Fred Hoyer of Donnellson RFD, and Fred Loges of Farmington RFD.

She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters, one of whom died in infancy.

The funeral service was held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Miller's Home for Funerals in Donnellson with the Rev. Victor Engelmann officiating. Burial was in Donnellson Cemetery.
