Schuyler Gooden

Schuyler Hubert Gooden, 74, died at his home in Milton at 3 p.m. Monday, April 13.

He was born Aug. 10, 1895 in Scotland County, Missouri, to David and Mary Elizabeth Harl Gooden. On Aug. 22, 1931 he married Velma Yates who survives. He was a farmer for a number of years and also a stone blaster at the Douds Stone Quarry.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Max Silvers of Floris, Mrs. Lowell Bowling of Winfield, Kan. and Mrs. Jerry Dixon of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Francis of Carlsbad, Calif. and Mrs. Fay Speers of Milton and one brother, Earl Gooden of Milton.

The service will be Thursday, April 16 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church with the Rev. James McKean officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Wellborn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
