Lester C. Keifer

Lester C. Kiefer of Donnellson died Monday, Jan. 12, at 1:40 a.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison, after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 1, 1883 in Franklin county, Sheffield, Iowa, the son of William and Sarah Garber Kiefer.

He moved to Donnellson from Mason City two years ago. He was a laborer. He was a member of the Evangelical church.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Woodley of Donnellson; one brother, Bert Leroy Kiefer, address unknown; one sister, Mrs. Homer Esslinger of Sheffield; one brother, Chester of Des Moines; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The body was taken to the Wartnaby-Grarup Funeral Home at Sheffield Wednesday where the funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Halltown cemetery at Sheffield.
