Pfc. Jimmie D. Still Killed In Vietnam

Army private first class, Jimmie Dale Still, 20, of Bonaparte, was killed Jan. 1, in Vietnam.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Still of Bonaparte RFD 2, and his wife Patricia, of Cantril, were notified of his death.

A report from the Army stated that Pfc. Still was killed when a mine accidentally detonated while he was on a military mission. He had been working out of Song Be as first gunner. He was in Company C, 2nd Batt., 12th Cavalry, first air cavalry division A M. He was drafted Feb. 24, 1969, and has been in Vietnam since July 26.

He was born Feb. 20, 1949 at Bonaparte, the son of Dale and Mildred House Still. He graduated from Harmony Community High School in 1967 and was employed by the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Burlington, before he entered the service.

While on leave from the Army on Oct. 4, 1969, in the United Methodist Church at Bonaparte, he married Patricia L. Stott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stott of Cantril. His wife has been living with her parents, while he was in the Army.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one sister, Melinda Still, at home; his grandmother, Mrs. Retta House of Bonaparte, and his grandfather, Perry Still of Farmington.

The date and time of the funeral service will be announced by Miller's Home for Funerals, Farmington.
