Chester L. Hills

Chester LeRoy Hills, Burlington Rt. 2, died Christmas day in Memorial hospital, Mercy unit, Burlington.

Mr. Hills was a native of Selma and was born Nov. 1, 1900, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hills. He was married to Eva Smith Case at Galesburg, Ill., on May 30, 1935.

Mr. Hills retired from the trucking business. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist church.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Shipley of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Marcidell Spearman of West Burlington and Mrs. Melbaline Hostetter of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Margaret Case of Mt. Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Randall Hills, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Arledge and Mrs. Florence Glattfelder, all of Burlington.

Services were held at the Sheagren Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, the Rev. John M. Falconer officiated. Burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
