Mrs. Everett Battin

Mrs. Virginia Alice Battin, 89, Cantril, widow of Everett Battin, died Thursday, Jan. 1, at 9:30 P.M. at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

Born June 4, 1880, she was the daughter of John and Eviolette Gore Armstrong. She was married Nov. 19, 1899. Her husband died April 10, 1946. The couple moved to Cantril in 1938.

Mrs. Battin had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Pauline Woodin, the past several years. She was a member of the Cantril Eastern Star Rebekah Lodge No. 1 of Bloomfield and Cantril United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Cantril United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert Phillips officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Bloomquist.
