Mrs. H.E. Smith

Mrs. H.E. (Edna M.) Smith, 81, Mt. Pleasant, died at the Henry County Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, Dec. 28, at 7:50 A.M. She had been a patient for a day.

Born March 11, 1888, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of John G. and Effie Day Donald.

On April 22, 1907, she was married to Harley E. Smith in Fairfield.

Surviving are two sons, Orville M. Smith, Charlotte, N.C., and Donald Irwin Smith, Salix, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. John Mathews, Mt. Pleasant route 1; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Arvilla Edwards, Mt. Pleasant, and a brother, Harve E. Donald, Stockport.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Congregational Universalists Church, Mt. Pleasant, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, the Rev. Dr. C. Dendy Garrett, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
