James W. Steele

James W. Steele, 81, Keosauqua, died at 4:30 P.M. Friday, July ??, in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 28, 1887, near Troy, the son of Clem and (Mable) Likes Steele.

Mr. Steele married Grace Gilbert in Oregon on April 16, 19??. He was a retired carpenter and hardware store clerk.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Freda Bennett and Mrs. Ava Willey, both of Ottumwa, Mrs. Doris Roush, Keosauqua; two sons, Marvin Steele, Ottumwa, Donald Steele, El Centro, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Alta Lora, Troy; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Catcott Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with the Rev. Millard Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon Cemetery.
