Craige Sherod

Craige Sherod, 85-year-old retired businessman, died at the Holden nursing home, Keosauqua, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26 after a long illness.

He was the son of Reson and Mary Miles Sherod, and was born Sept. 27, 1883, near Winchester, Iowa. He was married to Maude Workman of Birmingham on Dec. 2, 1902; she died Dec. 23, 1954.

Mr. Sherod for many years operated a service station and automobile agency on Main street in Keosauqua.

Surviving are a son, Jack Sherod of Mt. Sterling; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Wallace of Stockport; a brother, Glen Sherod of Keosauqua; a sister, Mrs. Berneice Dunshee of Keosauqua; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at the Catcott funeral home with the Rev. Millard Marshall officiating. Burial was in Pittsburg cemetery.
