Roy Kisling

Roy Kisling, 73, lifelong Van Buren County farmer, died at Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, about 8 p.m. Friday, April 25. He had been a patient there since suffering a stroke on April 19.

Born in Van Buren County Nov. 29, 1895, he was the son of John and Mary Kisling. He was married to Evelyn Brown.

Survivors include his widow; five sons, Dean, at home, Paul, Dwight, and Robert, all of Keosauqua and Charlie of Stockport; six daughters, Carol at home, Mrs. Loren Manley of Libertyville, Mrs. Gregory Bowman of Mount Sterling, Mrs. Don Jewel of Chicago, Mrs. Francis Manley of Monmouth, Ill., and Mrs. John Whitfield of Perry, Fla.; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Murphy of Keosauqua.

The funeral was held Monday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Keosauqua Christian Church with the Rev. Donald Hickman of Fairfield officiating, assisted by the Rev. Howard McPeak of Keosauqua. Burial was in Miller Chapel Cemetery, near Keosauqua.
