James E. Raines

James E. Raines, 84, resident of the I.O.O.F. Home as Mason City the past five weeks died Sunday, March 9 in the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at Mason City following major surgery. He was born at Salem Oct. 5, 1884. He married Mary Bowder in 1915, she died in 1958.

He is survived by one stepson and three stepdaughters, Willard J. Grim of Bloomington, ill., Mrs. Carl Blythe of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Helen Douglas of Chicago, Mrs. Gladys Swanger of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Maude See of Fairfield; a brother, Max H. Raines of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at the Catcott Funeral Home. Burial was in Fast Cemetery, Salem.
