George Pollock

George R. Pollock, 78, 827 Harvey, Ottumwa, died Monday, September 30 at 6:45 P.M. at Ottumwa Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years. An employee of Hall-Ekfelt Furniture Co. for 40 years, he retired Oct. 10, 1958.

He was the son of Walter and Ella Pollock, born in Douds, Sept. 3, 1890, and had lived in Ottumwa since 1919. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Knights of Pythias.

He married Zula Hull, Sept. 3, 1914, in Keosauqua. Survivors include his widow; one son, Clarence Pollock of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Bradley of Ottumwa and Mrs. Ellen Ann Fackler of Clinton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Slutts of Ottumwa.

Funeral services at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Charles E. Smith of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial in Shaul Cemetery.
