MRS. FRANK RUBY
Mrs. Frank Ruby, 83, longtime resident of the Stockport area, died early Monday, Aug. 8 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua. She had been seriously ill for the past week.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Big Cedar Christian Church in charge of the Rev. Chester Werft. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruby was the former Jessie Chezum. She was born June 6, 1883 at Glasgow, the daughter of Harve and Emiline Smith Chezum. She was married to Frank H. Ruby Aug. 31, 1898. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1960.
Mrs. Ruby was a member of the Big Cedar Christian Church. The Ruby family home is three and a half miles northeast of Stockport.
Surviving are nine children: Paul Ruby of Ottumwa, Mrs. Myrtle Doyle of Fairfield, Joe Ruby of Mt. Pleasant, Harold Ruby of Billings, Mont., John Ruby of Memphis, Mo., Mrs. Esther Stoops and Dale Ruby of Fairfield, Mrs. Wilda Bradfield of Stockport and Mrs. Margaret Smith of Burlington.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Glen Chezum of Fairfield. Three brothers are deceased.
