MRS. W.A. THOMPSON

Mrs. W.A. (Della) Thompson, 75, of Salem passed away at the Millspaugh Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant, Sunday morning, Aug. 7, 1966 where she had been the past few months due to failing health.

She was born Sept. 30, 1890 at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Mae Buckingham Harper.

On April 27, 1910 she was married to W.A. Thompson at Mt. Pleasant, who survives. She had been a resident of Salem for 57 years and was a member of the Salem Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Gordon K. of Davenport; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Jamison and Mrs. Estyle Mets are deceased. An infant daughter and her parents also preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Salem with the Rev. Ervin Wilkins of Wilton Junction and Walter Wellington of the Salem Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Salem East Cemetery.
