DALE B. BRECKENRIDGE

Dale B. Breckenridge, age 57, passed away at his home in Cantril at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, July 7.

He was born near Kilbourne, Iowa, on April 27, 1909, the son of Newt and Mary Campbell Breckenridge. His mother passed away when he was eight years old and he made his home with an aunt and uncle, Hattie and Ernest Campbell.

On Nov. 5, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mary Lancaster at the home of his brother, Clyde, in Douds. They were the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Helen Eastman of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. Betty Vannoy of Douds, Iowa.

He was a mechanic for several years at Mt. Sterling, before moving to Cantril, where he operated his own trucking business, hauling agriculture limestone. For the past several years, he had also been Stree Commissioner for the town of Cantril.

Survivors are his wife; the two daughters and their husbands; nine grandchildren; one brother, Clyde of Loveland, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Morris of Mt. Sterling; other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Clair, and two infant sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 10 at 2 p.m. at the Cantril Methodist church with Clergymen, Rev. Herbert Phillips and Rev. Jeffrey Berkley officiating. Interment was made in Leando cemetery.
