Dale Lasley

The community of Cherokee, Okla. was shocked and saddened on Sunday morning, April 24, at the sudden passing of Dale A. Lasley, manage of the meat department of the Calking I.G.A. Mr. Lasley was the victim of a massive cerrebral hemhorrage, and lived but a short time after being taken to the Cherokee Masonic Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1915, at Hardtner, Kansas and moved to Iowa when a small child, where he grew to manhood at Milton. He was well known in Ft. Madison, Iowa, where he worked as a machinist in the Santa Fe shops, and later as an employee of the Dupont Co.

Mr. Lasley was united in marriage to Elsa C. Bostrom of Ft. Madison on Dec. 16, 1944, in Kansas City, Mo. They lived in Hardtner, Kansas for a number of years where they were engaged in business. Two and one half years ago, the Lasleys moved to Cherokee, Okla. where Dale had accepted a position he was occupying at the time of his passing.

Dale Alvin Lasley became a member of Aurora Lodge No. 50, AF & AM, Milton, Iowa on Sept. 5, 1940. He also belonged to the Wichita Consistory. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Cherokee, where he was active on the official board. He was very devoted to his family, and the happiest when with them. He loved sports and was active for years in baseball. He loved good music. he was very fond of small children and adored by his 11 nieces and nephews.

Deeply grieved at their loss are his wife, Elsa; daughter, Sandra; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lasley, Hardtner; five sisters, Mrs. Gayle Cook and Mrs. June Achenbach, Hardtner, Mrs. Tessie Overton and Mrs. Patricia Pierpoint, Wichita, and Mrs. Billie Jeanne Wallace, Oklahoma City; his beloved nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

His adoring family is secure in the knowledge that as in this life he quietly walked with God, so now he also is with Him.
