Mrs. Emma Galle

Funeral service for Mrs. Emma Galle, 89, a former Donnellson resident, was held Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in the Zion Mennonite church at Donnellson. The Rev. Ernest Porzelius officiated. Burial was in the Mennonite cemetery. Miller's Home for Funerals in Donnellson was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Galle died Saturday at 10:15 p.m. in the Farmington Rest Home following a lengthy illness. She was the last of her family.

Born Sept. 11, 1876, near Donnellson, she was the daughter of Peter and Marie Krehbiel Weber.

She lived on the farm near Donnellson and in Donnellson until going to the nursing home to live.

She was a member of the Zion Mennonite church and of its Women's Missionary society.

She was married to Jacob Galle on Feb. 19, 1899, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1959.

Surviving are one son, Wilmer Galle, of Montrose; five daughters, Mrs. Hilda Sprenger of Fort Madison, Mrs. Bertha Phillips of Washington, Mrs. Stella Evans of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Irene Lafferty of Hammond, Ind. and Mrs. Myrtle Peterson of Keokuk; 24 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death in addition to her husband by four brothers and four sisters.
