LINN, Lewis Charles

Lewis Charles LINN, 69, of 410 Newport Avenue, died in a local hospital Friday. He was a custodian in Jefferson Junior High School. He lived here 35 years. He was born in Cantril, Iowa, and belonged to Seaside Lodge, F. & A.M. He leaves his wife, Gertrude (nee: GOVREAU), at home; two sons, Lewis Charles, Jr., and Donald Alonzo; and a daughter, Mrs. Russell FOX (Charlotte LINN), all of Long Beach. The lodge and the Rev. John W. Hanna will officiate at the service at 2:30 p.m. today in Holton and Son Chapel.

Lewis Charles LINN b. August 9, 1885 d. July 22, 1955. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Park.

"Autoist Dies After Striking Parked Car

A 69 year old man apparently suffered a heart attack while driving, crashed his car into a parked car at Anaheim St. and Lewis Ave, and later died on the way to the hospital.

Lewis C. Linn, 410 Newport Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at Seaside Hospital shortly before 4 p.m., according to police. City ambulance attendants told officers Linn was still alive when they picked him up at the scene of the accident.

Officers said Linn's car crashed into a parked car owned by Robert H. Barker, 44 of 1050 E. Anaheim St. and knocked it into another parked car.

The body was removed to the B.W. Coon Mortuary.
