MARJORIE B. RITZ

Mrs. Marjorie B. Ritz, daughter of James and Elizabeth Cadworth Snelling, was born November 28, 1918 in Davis County, and departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1966, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 47.

As a girl she moved with her parents to a farm near Douds, and the remainder of her life was spent in the Douds community.

On September 9, 1939, she was married to H.L. Ritz.

Remaining to morn her passing are her husband and five sons, Jack of Douds; Dennis of San Juan, Puerto Rico; Joseph, Robert and Van at home. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Snelling of Eldon and a sister, Mrs. James Acton of Ottumwa, other relatives and many friends.

An infant son and a brother, Guy Snelling, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ritz was a member of the Douds Bible Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 20, 1966, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. David Birdsall, Baptist Pastor officiating. Vocalists were Mrs. Keith A. Smith and Mrs. Robert Pedrick, accompanied by Mrs. Charley Kunzman. Bearers were Vernon Gardner, Walter R. Miller, Thomas Gardner, William Kunzman, John Acton, Frank Miller, Floyd Spilman, and Kriss Hootman. Interment was in Leando Cemetery.
