DELBERT WILLIAM CARLISLE

Delbert William Carlisle was born April 15, 1934, in Davis County, Iowa, and departed this life Monday, Jan. 17, 1966, near Vicksburg, Mississippi, at the age of 31.

His early life was spent in Davis County and he graduated from the Troy high school in 1952. For several years he lived at Marshalltown, and more recently had made his home with his parents near Selma and with his brother-in-law and sister, Mrs. and Mrs. Edward Stone near Keosauqua. He had gone to Mississippi about Dec. 1, 1965, to do construction.

Remaining to morn his passing are two daughters, Kathy and Rose Ann, and a son, Mark, of Marshalltown; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Michael of Selma; three sisters, Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Donald Harem of Marshalltown, Mrs. Justin Hook of Iowa City; two brothers, Paul D. Carlisle of Cedar Rapids and Thomas Carlisle of Selma; and his grandmother, Mrs. Hildred Jones of Selma, other relatives and many friends.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church at Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 21, 1966 at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. G. Basil Tadlock, Methodist Pastor officiating. The bearers were: Eugene Russell, Russell Halverson, Fred Kunzman, Paul Lambert, and Michael Gardner. Interment was in the Iowaville Cemetery near Selma.
