Mrs. Fred Williams

Mrs. Hattie E. Williams, 76, a long-time Fairfield resident, died Monday, March 14 at 8:50 a.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City. She had been a resident of the Nelson Nursing Home.

Born Jan. 6, 1890, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of Charles and Matilda Wade Bonnett. She married Fred Williams May 14, 1916, and he died June 10, 1962.

She had resided most of her life in the Birmingham and Fairfield communities.

Survivors include three brothers, Harry Bonnett of Ottumwa, Ira Bonnett of Fairfield and Lester Bonnett of Roy, Utah, and two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Yerion of Libertyville and Mrs. Birdell Lowe of Sarasota, Fla.

Besides her husband, a son and a brother preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Four Square Church, Hawkeye Rebekah Lodge and Women's Relief Corps.

The service was held Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at Weston Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
