EVA LENA OOSTHOEK

Mrs. Eva Lena Oosthoek, 88, a longtime Kilbourn resident, died Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec. 19. The body was taken to the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

In failing health for a number of years, she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Leslie Cox of Eldon, for several years. She was a member of the Kilbourn Methodist church.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Catcott Funeral Home, with the Rev. Albert McMurrin of Richland officiating. Burial will be in the Kilbourn cemetery.

The daughter of Harvey and Kathryn Pool Slutts, she was born Aug. 8, 1877 at Mt. Zion. On Dec. 30, 1896 she married Peter Oosthoek who died in 1956.

She is survived by her daughter, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma E. Ramsey of Stockport and Mrs. Anna Geiger of Keosauqua.

Wayne Cox of Keosauqua and Warren Cox of Ottumwa are grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one grandson and three sisters.
