JOHN ROBERT NEWBOLD

John Robert Newbold, oldest son of Gertrude Hixson Newbold and Robert Newbold, was killed in an automobile accident December 30, 1979 near Portland, Oregon.

He was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, May 10, 193?. He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and after retiring was a teller in the Hillsboro Savings Bank, Hillsboro, Iowa, for several years. At the time of his death he was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Portland, Oregon.

He leaves two sons, James of Hillsboro, Iowa, Jeffrey of Portland, Oregon and one daughter, Jerry, also of Portland and two brothers, Roger of Burlington, Iowa and Tyler of Quincy, Ill.; one aunt, Mrs. Helen Keck of Birmingham, Iowa, and one uncle, (Benn) Hixson of Douglas, Wyo. He was preceded in death by both parents. Burial was at Portland, Oregon.
