Mr. and Mrs. Don Water and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Brown all of Birmingham attended last rites for Mrs. John (Alice) Vass, 73 on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. E??? Manning officiating. Burial was in the Eldon Cemetery

Mrs. Vass was born October 9, (1906) in Eldon to Willard and Edna Boxx Walker and passed away Nov. 2 at University Hospitals, Iowa City. She had lived in Eldon and Keosauqua and two years in the Birmingham area. She was a member of the Christian Church and the PEO Chapter 1 at Keosauqua and a 50 year member of Order of Easter Star. She married John Vass Feb. 17, 1931. He died July 5, 1977. Survivors: a sister, Shirley Cox of Eldon and two brothers, (Herbert) Walker of Leandro, California and Willard Walker Jr. of Geneseo, Ill.
