Ottumwa, Iowa, Friday, September 2, 1977

WILLIAM PEACOCK

KEOSAUQUA - William C. Peacock, 81, died early today at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital. He had suffered a stroke July 30.

The son of Henry and Minnie Warner Peacock, he was born April 11, 1896, in Chequest Township. In 1919, he married Flavina Harwood. She died in 1948. On July 29, 1950, he married Lenora Hughes Moore.

Survivors: his wife; sons Neil of Greenfield and Carrol of Sparwood, British Columbia; daughters Lenore Creath of Cantril and Kathleen Starnes of Lawndale, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Rex of Keosauqua and Bates of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Blanche Pittman of Des Moines and Pearl DeHart of Keosauqua.

He served in the Navy in World War I, farmed in Van Buren County and, for a number of years, was custodian at Van Buren High School and the Keosauqua Federal Building. He was a member of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church and Beer-Barker American Legion Post.

Services: Sunday, 2 p.m., at Keosauqua United Methodist Church, the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Burial: Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements: Pedrick Funeral Home. Memorial: to Keosauqua United Methodist Church.
