JOHN A. VASS

KEOSAUQUA - John A. Vass, 74, died Tuesday at 11:39 a.m. at Van Buren County Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1903, in Eldon to Henry and Grace Cain Vass. He lived in the Eldon community until moving in 1948 to Keosauqua.

Mr. Vass was a construction worker and race horse trainer. He was a 50-year member of the New Hope Masonic Lodge at Eldon.

On Feb. 16, 1931, he married Alice Walker. She survives as does one sister, Edith Maxwell of Warrensburg, Mo.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Eldon Cemetery, with the Rev. William Huffman officiating. Campbell Funeral Home, Eldon, is in charge of arrangements.
