Ottumwa, Iowa, Monday, February 28, 1977

PAUL KNEDLER

FARMINGTON - Paul Knedler, 70, of Farmington, died Sunday at 1:55 a.m. in Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

He was born Oct. 17, 1906, in Bloomfield to Isaac and Myrtle Bolar Knedler. A Farmington resident 46 years, he had retired from Standard Oil Company after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Masoni Lodge, both in Farmington.

Mr. Knedler served three terms as a member of the Van Buren County Board of Supervisors, with his last term ending in 1975. He also was a former city council member and a past president of the Farmington School Board.

On Dec. 11, 1929, he married Verna Smith at Sidney. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jon of Burlington and Richard of Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Janey Bitner of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Wallace of Des Moines and Mrs. Lucille Bear of Yucca Valley, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Masonic rites will be conducted tonight at 7:30 at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Hofbauer's, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery northwest of Farmington.

A memorial has been established payable to the Farmington Library, and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
