RUSSELL W. NEWMAN

KEOSAUQUA - Russell W. Newman, 82, of Keosauqua, died Thursday at noon at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 14, 1894, at Stockport to John D. and Mary Webber Newman. On oct. 6, 1915, he married Florence Clark at Stockport. She died in 1976.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis of Keosauqua and Wayne of Stockport; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He had worked for Van Buren County and for various county care facilities from 1928 until his retirement.

The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John D. Cornish officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

The body is at Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.
