HELEN BENNETT

Mrs. Helen Bennett, 73, Jefferson Square Manor, died there at 11 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born May 17, 1903, at Mount Zion to James and Ollie McCarty Myers. She was a member of the Ottumwa Baptist Temple.

She first married Maley Sellwood who died in 1938. In June 1943 she married Robert Bennett. He died in 1958.

Surviving are three sons, Maley and James Sellwood and Roy Bennett of Ottumwa; four daughters, Ollie Lanigan of Davenport, Maxine and Mabel Songer and Alice Eaton, all of Ottumwa; 27 grandchildren; and one sister, Katie DeSchinkel of Rock Island, Ill.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ottumwa Baptist Temple, the Rev. A.D. Pringle officiating. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery. The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11 a.m. on Saturday when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service.
