Ottumwa, Iowa, Thursday, November 18, 1976

WILLIAM ELSENSOHN

William Elsensohn, 91, formerly of Agency, died today at 2:25 a.m. at Sunnyslope Care Cneter.

Born Oct. 5, 1885, in Van Buren County to Joseph and Sarah Marshall Elsensohn, he was an Ottumwa resident most of his life. A 50-year and life member of the Knights of Pythias and the D.O.K.K., he was employed as a hardware salesman for Haw Hardware Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1960. He married Letha Poole April 19, 1911. She died Jan. 25, 1968.

Surviving are five daughters, Edna Ross of Portage, Ind., Eileen Hendricks, Martha Farrington and Veva Clary, all of Ottumwa, and Florence Hull of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Fred Elsensohn of San Jacinto, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. W.C. Trembly of the Agency United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established payable to the Agency United Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythias. Contributions may be sent to the Reece Funeral Home, 607 E. Second.
