HARVARD JIRANEK

FARMINGTON - Harvard C. Jiranek, 65, of Farmington died Thursday at 7:53 a.m. of a heart condition at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Jan. 27, 1911, at Minneapolis, Minn., to Louis and Mildred O'Boyle Jiranek. On June 1, 1942, he married Orion June Wilson at Waynesville, Mo.

A 40-year resident of Farmington, he had served as justice of the peace 10 years and operated a television, radio and watch repair shop. He was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church, the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion, having served in World War II.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, James and Jerald Jiranek, both of Farmington; one daughter, Jill Jiranek of Keokuk; and one granddaughter.

The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington, with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery.
