Bertha Kent

MILTON - Bertha L. Kent, 83, died Saturday at the van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born to Edward and Martha Spraker Cassatt. She moved to Milton in 1960, and was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

She married Onely Kent, who died in 1934.

Survivors are one daughter, Josephine House of Milton; six grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Davis of Bloomfield and Helen Simmons of Ottumwa; and three brothers, Ross Cassatt of Bloomfield, Fern Cassatt of Moulton and Harold Cassatt of Milton.

The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Milton Christian Church, with the Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.

A memorial has been established payable to the heart fund.

Visitation will be tonight at 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
