MRS. GOLDIE P. PITNEY

Mrs. Russell (Goldie P.) Pitney, 66, Farmington, died at 7:44 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Fort Madison, where she had been a patient since August 11.

She was born February 20, 1909, at Dawn, Missouri.

On November 26, 1925, at fort Madison, she was married to Russell Pitney, who survives.

She had been a resident of Farmington for 46 years, and had been employed at the Bonaparte Glove Factory and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Burlington. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmington, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Farmington Cemetery Association.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold (helen) Lowenberg, Donnellson, and Mrs. Robert (Rita) Zane of Hillsboro; a brother, Harold Krouse of Farmington; seven sisters, Mrs. Cecil Shearer and Mrs. Warren Martin, both of Farmington, Mrs. Raymond Hite and Mrs. Bill Carroll, both of Medil, Missouri, Irene Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. John Butler, Luray, Missouri, and Mrs. Lloyd Van Patton of Ukiah, California; four grandchildren, and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers. Her parents were David Betty Jones Krouse.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at the Farmington United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott Holmes officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery. The body was taken to the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home.
