Mrs. Doris L. Hootman, age 49, died Saturday morning at University Hospital in Iowa City after a lengthy illness. Last rites were held Monday, May 5, at the Birmingham United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorial to the Cancer Fund may be left at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.
Mrs. Hootman was born June 18, 1925, the daughter of McKinley and Lorenia Umphrey Haney. She was married to Keith Hootman, May 2, 1942 at Mexico, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Kendall of Iowa City and Jerry of Keosauqua, two grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Lorenia Haney of Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, two brothers, Dorsey Haney of Batavia, and Merle Haney of Fairfield.
