Died Suddenly Saturday Noon [no dates stated].
Mrs. Martha E. Davidson, wife of John R. Davidson of Des Moines township, died Saturday, June 11 [no year stated] of hardening and abscess of the liver, aged nearly 61 years. Mrs. Davidson had been ailing for some months, but had been able to be around until the very day of her death, having been in Keosauqua the presious Saturday.
On the day of her death, Mr. Davidson had men there sawing wood. They went out to their work after dinner, but in a few minutes word was sent them that Mrs. Davidson was dead. Being a fleshy woman she was buried at 4 o'clock Sunday morning, interment being in the Langford cemetery.
The funeral was held at 1:30 Sunday {no date stated] and was quite largely attended. Elder Stephenson conducting the service.
Mrs. Davidson was a daughter of Anderson and Nancy Langford and a sister of H.H. Langford, who made his home with her. She was a graduate in music of the Vinton State College for the blind.
She united with the Christian church May 14, 1884. She had a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
I am not related; this Obit. is in an old family scrapbook for those who might have an interest --there are several Davidson and Langford families in Van Buren County history.
