CURTIS MELVIN SHAMBLIN
Curtis Melvin Shamblin, age 67, of Rome, Iowa, died suddenly at his home, Monday, April 21, 1975, at 4 p.m. He was born September 9, 1907, at Hillsboro, Iowa, the son of Albert and Blanch Beasley Shamblin. On September 11, 1950, he was married to Luvina Beeber Nau at Kahoka, Missouri. He was a lifetime resident of the Hillsboro Community until 1967 when he moved to Rome. He was a retired farmer, also employed at MHI in Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving is the wife, four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ed Gholson, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Harold Septer, Altoona, Mrs. Virgil Riley, Rome, Mrs. Ray Cooksey, Mt. Pleasant, three stepsons, Albert (Doc) Nau, Mt. Pleasant, Merton Nau, Hazelcrest, Illinois, and Dean Nau, Greenville, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at the Beatty Jennings Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. H.L. Smith of the Hillsboro Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Pleasant Point Cemetery southwest of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial to the heart fund has been established in his memory.
