John W. Bowers, 74, 3026 Ave. M, died at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, at his home.
He was born June 30, 1900, in Farmington, the son of Joseph and Kathryn Nauman Bowers. He married Edna M. Anthony October 18, 1928, in Keosauqua.
He was a retired railroad employe and a member of the Claypoole Lodge No. 13, AF & AM.
Surviving: the wife; son, William M., Portland, Oregon; daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Casady, Council Bluffs; sister, Mrs. Christina Madsen, Paso Robles, California; six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the King-Lynk funeral home at Fort Madison; Rev. Richard Buck; Oakland cemetery.
