DONALD B. HORN

Donald B. Horn, 60, rural Douds, died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, January 25, at Van Buren County Memorial hospital at Keosauqua.

He was born February 6, 1914, near Douds, the son of T. Gilmore and Cora Channel Horn. He married Josephine Harryman July 1, 1936, in Kirksville, Mo. Mr. Horn operated a plumbing and heating business in Birmingham for several years, was a farmer, chief of the Birmingham volunteer fire department, a member of the Farm Bureu(err) and the Van Buren Development Assoc.

Surviving: the wife; the mother; three sons, Larry and Fred, San Diego, California, and Francis, Fairfield; three brothers, Harold, Hialeah, Florida; Clair, St. Louis, Missouri; and Thomas, Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Reneker, Birmingham, and Mrs. Raymond Finney, Douds; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral was 10 Tuesday, at the Oak Grove church east of Douds, Rev. Donald Struach; Zion Lutheran cemetery, Pedrick funeral home in Douds was in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established with Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines.
