SAMUEL ARDELL WIXOM
Samuel Ardell Wixom, 63, Hillsboro, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday, January 27, at University hospitals, Iowa City, after a 3-month illness.
He was born March 23, 1911, at Farmington, the son of Sam and Cora Swearingen Crooks Wixom. He married Peggy Bailey. On March 24, 1971, he married Margaret Schimkus. An employe for John Deere works in East Moline, Illinois, he retired last October. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving: The widow; his mother, Cora Crooks, West Branch; four sons, Bill, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Edward, Fairfield, Darrell, Burlington, and Richard, Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Mahoney, West Liberty; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, Rev. Gary Worsham; Greenglade cemetery, Farmington.
