Mildred Zickfoose Burkett, born April 22, 1912, of rural Keosauqua died Aug 3, 1977 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was the daughter of Clark and Amelia Zickfoose and the family lived south of Milton a number of years ago. She graduated from Milton High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College at Mt. Pleasant, after which she taught school in Henry and Van Buren Counties and later married Fred M. Burkett who survives.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Chrisitan Church. She is survived by one daughter and six sons. The funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Christian Church with the burial in the Fellows Cemetery.
