FIND AMBROSE BRUMLEY DEAD

Well Known Farmer of Near Milton Dies Quietly In His Sleep

Stricken by a heart attack while he slept, Ambrose A. Brumley quietly died last Friday morning. He was found in his bed at about 5 o'clock that morning by his nephew, Ambrose, Jr., who summoned his father, Newton J. Brumley, whose home lies across a field from Ambrose Brumley's residence. His death came so suddenly that, to all appearances it was painless.

Mr. Brumley was born on the farm where he died. He lived there all of his life of 68 years. He was the son of John N. Brumley, a native of Ohio, and Lucretia Downing Brumley. He was a prominent farmer of Roscoe Township, Davis county, specializing with his brother Newton, in the feeding and shipping of cattle. They also farmed extensive acreages. In 1914, he was married to Luella Rinabarger, who passed away a few years ago. There were no children.

He was a man of pleasnat disposition and who loved to mingle with his neighbors and friends. He took much interest in lodge affairs, being a member of the I.O.O.F. and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Mr. Brumley had been in poor health recently, but his death was entirely unexpected. The day prior to his death, he had shucked a load of corn and that evening had fed a large group of cattle. This activity may hae been the cause of his sudden death. He had previously thought of death but had no fear of it. Only a week before, he made the remark to U.G. Burnett of Milton, that should he not outlive Rev. Gilbert, of Cantril, that he wanted that minister to conduct his funeral.

The funeral was conducted in Milton last Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Chrisitian church. Rev. Gilbert, of the Methodist church at Cantril delievered the funeral sermon. Speical music was rendered by a mixed quartette, composed of D.A. Miller, Frank Holland, Mrs. Mayme Marshall and Mrs. M.E. Atkins. Pallbearers were: Lamar Rowland, Harrison Holmes, John Merritt, Willard Boyd, Fred Stegelman and Gene Racey. Interment was made at the Milton Sunnyside Cemetery.
