Mr. Frank McIntosh of this place died Friday after an illness of several months with a complication of diseases. Mr. McIntosh was born in this county Oct. 12, 1851, being at the time of his death 59 years, 7 months and 1 day old. He had resided in this county practically all his life.
Feb. 28, 1870, Mr. McIntosh was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Pate, and to this union 11 children were born, nine of whom with the widow survive. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters, -- Morris of Milton, Charles of Cantril and Reece of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Drew of Ottumwa, Mrs. Ellen Kiser of Murdock, Neb., and Mrs. Jennie Haney of Douds. All three of the sisters and the two brothers and their wives residing in the county and all the children and a number of other relatives attended the funeral.
The funeral was held at the M.E. church Saturday afternoon, the serivces being conducted by Rev. W.G. Thorn who delivered a very helpful discourse on the importance of living a spiritual life if one would attain to all that he is capable in this life and the life to come. There was a large attendance at the funeral, the large church being filled and a long procession to the Purdom cemetery, where the body was laid to rest. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers.
Mr. McIntosh was a good and kind and honorable man and his death is deeply mourned by his immediate family and he is missed by his friends and acquaintances.
