Leslie G. Dickson

Leslie G. Dickson was born near Vernon, Iowa, on Sept. 18, 1902, and passed away at his home on the same farm at 7 a.m. Feb. 24, 1973.

He was the only son of Charles and Susie Gaston Dickson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and two sisters: Mabel B. Miller and Arlene Folker.

His widow, the former Barbara Fowler, survives, and also two nieces and their children.

Leslie was a graduate of Bonaparte High School and afterward studied telegraphy. However, he decided to make farming his occupation as he loved working on the land as a way of life.

He was a member of the Center Chapel Methodist Church.

He was very concerned in the activities of Van Buren County and spent much time and effort on the County Development Association and on the restoration projects of Bentonsport. His enthusiasm and efforts will be greatly missed by a host of friends and co-workers.

Services were held at Center Chapel on Monday, Feb. 26, in charge of Rev. James M. Ford. Burial was in Center Chapel Cemetery.
