Amos Keith Dent

Amos Keith Dent, 63, passed away February 24 at 6:55 p.m. at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He died of complications following an auto accident within a block of his home in Corydon on Friday afternoon about 2.

He had retired from farming and had been working for the Norris Construction Co. of Ottumwa.

He was born to Henry and Ollie Sheets Dent Feb. 3, 1909, in Cambria, Ia. He had lived in Wayne County all his life. He was married to Leona McLeland in 1936 and she survives. Also six children servive(sp). They are Margaret Martin of Cantril, David of Corydon, Marlene Brown of Boone, William of New Hartford, Ia., Eugene of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Karolyn at home. Three sisters, Mrs. Elda Younker of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Jessie Hall of Indianola and Mrs. Coy Abercrombie of National City, Calif., and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncle survive.

He was peceded in death by a brother, Dan and two grandsons, Russell and Rodney Brown.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Wolf Funeral home in Corydon with Rev. Roy Jones of Humeston presiding. Burial was in the Cambria Cemetery at Cambria.
