AL H. PETERSCHMIDT

Al H. Peterschmidt, 80, of West Point, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Ft. Madison Nursing Care Center where he had been a patient for two weeks.

He was born Jan. 14, 1892, at Ft. Madison, the son of Peter and Theresa Duker Peterschmidt. Mr. Peterschmidt was a retired farmer and had spent his entire life in Lee County.

He married Emma K. Fullenkamp on Oct. 20, 1916, at West Point. She died three weeks ago. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic church, West Point, its Holy Name Society and was a charter member of the West Point Council Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph, West Point, Dennis, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Thelma Peterschmidt; six brothers, George P., Eldorado, Kan., Leo, Davenport, Frank, West Point, Arnold, Portland, Ore., Ludwig, Tyler, Tex., and John, Tulsa, Okal; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Jansen and Mrs. Nettie Otten, both of Davenport; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, St. Mary Catholic church, West Point, Rev. Robert McAleer officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery in West Point. The rosary was recited Sunday, Dec. 31, at 8 and Monday, Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. by the parish, followed by Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
