Naomi Sue Vance

Naomi Sue Vance, 35, of Farmington died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Ft. Madison. She had been seriously ill for three months.

She was born January 31, 1937 at Ft. Madison, the daughter of Eschal and Betty Beall Smith. On June 12, 1955, she was married to Robert S. Vance at Farmington. He survives. She was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary Fellowship of the church.

She is survived by her husband, her father, Eschal Smith of Wichita, Kansas, her mother, Mrs. Betty Courtney of Farmington, two sons, Robert and William at home, two daughters, Karen and Amy, both at home, two brothers, Donald Smith of Farmington and Steve Smith of San Antonio, Tex., one step-brother, Robert Green, with the Army in Germany, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Jean Babcock of Wichita, Kans., and Linda Courtney of Farmington.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, in the Farmington Baptist Church, the Rev. Gary Worsham officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery at Farmington. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home had charge of the service.
