William C. Proenneke

Wm. C. Proenneke, 92, of Primrose died Thursday, Dec. 21 at 4:47 a.m. at Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Kesauqua(sp). He had been admitted to the hospital on December 6.

He was born April 30, 1880 at Primrose, the son of Christian and Elizabeth Maker Proenneke. On December 25, 1909, he married Laura Etta Bonn at Primrose. He was a well driller, painter and carpenter and spent his entire life in the Primrose area. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ at Franklin.

He is survived by three sons, Robert of Arlington, Virginia, Richard of Port Alsworth, Alaska and Raymond of Lynwood, Calif., three daughters, Helen Proenneke of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Melvin (Lorene) Hackard of Havana, Ill., and Florence Proenneke of Donnellson, two brothers, Louis C. and John, both of St. Louis, Mo., three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son and five brothers.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson with burial in Primrose Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Stoll officiated. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home had charge of the service.
