VIRGIL G. PRICKETT

Virgil G. Prickett, 62, Salem, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in his home.

He was born Sept. 30, 1910, in New London, the son of Elias and Lela Price Prickett. He married Helen Swan on Feb. 23, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant. He was employed by the Spahn-Rose Lumber Co. and was a member of the Salem Friends church.

Surviving are: The wife; three daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Shirley) Giberson, Hillsboro, Mrs. Melvin (Judy) George, Hamilton, Ill., Barbara Prickett, Salem; four sons, Gary and Randy, Salem, Ronald, New London, James, Ottumwa; his mother, Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Leona Lauffer, Denmark; one brother, Lern, Lockridge; and 15 grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Friends church with Rev. K. Waylen Brown officiating. Burial was in Burge cemetery.
