MAJOR ETHELYN HUGHES

Major Ethelyn Hughes, 66, of Largo, Fla. died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Dr. J.O. Ewing home in Bonaparte, where she had bee living since June.

She was born Dec. 28, 1905, at Mt. Ayr, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Bertha Hughes. She never married. She was a retired Major in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps. She worked for several years at Walter Reed hospital.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J.O. Ewing, Bonaparte, and Mrs. Esther Jane Manners of Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Services and interment in Arlington National Cemetery. Miller-Hofbauer is handling arrangements.
